Solid Teak Dining Chair with Curved Back and Arms
Description
Serena is a spindle-back dining chair in solid teak, finished in black. The curved back and low arms wrap around you rather than sitting square behind you, which is the difference between a chair you leave the table from quickly and one you stay at through a long dinner.
About the comfort.
The back curve is the point. A straight-backed dining chair supports you in one position; a curved one lets you shift and lean without losing support. The arms sit low enough to slide under a standard 75 cm dining table, so the chair tucks away rather than blocking the room.
About the material.
Solid teak, not veneer. Teak is dense and oily by nature, which is what keeps a chair from loosening at the joints after a few years of being pulled in and out daily. The black finish is applied over the grain, so you still read the wood rather than a flat painted surface.
Where it works.
Around a dining table as a set. Singly as an accent chair in a reception room or a bedroom, where the silhouette does more work than it would in a matched row. Against a lighter table it reads graphic; against dark wood it reads quiet.
Also available in natural, if the black is too strong for your room.
Care.
Wipe clean with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid soaking and avoid abrasive cleaners on the finish. Keep out of direct year-round sunlight, which fades any applied finish over time, and out of direct air-conditioning airflow, which dries the timber.
