Evelyn Ceramic Vase Grey

Evelyn is a ceramic vase in a classic urn shape, finished in a mottled grey that reads
closer to aged stone than to pottery. The surface carries visible texture and tonal
variation, so the piece looks as though it has been somewhere before it arrived with you.

About the shape and finish.

The traditional urn silhouette is deliberately familiar; the finish is what makes it
unusual. A muted grey with mottled, almost concrete-like undertones and small beaded
detailing around the rim and shoulder. Every piece is handmade, so the depth of the
mottling and the exact tone vary from vase to vase.

About the material.

Handmade from organic, sustainably produced ceramic. The weathered finish is applied by
hand rather than printed, which is why no two come out identical.

She holds water, so fresh flowers work as well as dried ones - no liner needed.

Where it works.

On a console table in an entryway, where it sets the tone from the doorstep. On a dining
table as a centrepiece for a dinner. On an open shelf or a sideboard. Styled as a pair
for symmetry, or alone as a single quiet object. Equally good with a loose bunch of fresh
stems or with dried pampas, eucalyptus and bare branches.

Evelyn comes in two sizes, and they work better together than apart - one tall and one
low on the same shelf gives you height without symmetry.

Care.

Wipe gently with a soft damp cloth and dry immediately. Change the water every few days
as you would with any vase, and rinse and dry her fully before she goes back on the shelf
empty. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which dull a hand-applied finish.
