Diego Concrete Side Table Black

Wide enough on top to hold a lamp, a book, a drink and a small tray without feeling cramped. The rounded shape below the top means she takes up less visual space than a boxy side table, even though the footprint is the same. Perfect beside a bed, next to a sofa, or as an accent piece in a reading corner.

The stacked form is more stable than it looks. The base is wider than the middle, so she has a proper foundation and doesn't tip.

About the material.

Handmade concrete, reinforced with glass fibre rather than poured solid. Same look, same weight in the hand, same durability - with better resistance to chipping. Heavy enough to feel substantial when you set something on it, light enough that one person can reposition her when rearranging a room.

The finish is matt with a soft hand-crafted texture - you can see the maker's touch in every piece. Sealed against everyday stains as standard.

About the colour.

Deep charcoal grey, matt. Softer than a true black, which is what stops it reading as industrial. Pairs strongly with warm woods, natural rattan and linen - the contrast against natural materials is what makes the piece look intentional. Works equally well in monochrome minimalist rooms.

Indoor vs outdoor.

Indoor primarily. She'll work on a covered terrace, but not in direct year-round UV - the charcoal finish will lighten over time in constant sun. If you want a concrete piece specifically for outdoor use, get in touch and we'll point you to the right one.

Care.

Wipe with a damp cloth for daily cleaning. Water rings from cold glasses aren't a problem, but wipe them up before they dry. Once a year, apply concrete sealer, available at any hardware store, to keep the finish sharp. No bleach, no abrasive scrubs.

Larger version.

If Diego is right in shape but you need something bigger or in white, take a look at Salvadore - same sculptural silhouette, larger scale, off-white finish.
