Carolina Oval Dining Table in White Concrete

Carolina is a dining table with a strong personality. The top is a soft oval - an egg shape rather than a strict ellipse - sitting on a sculptural pedestal base. Simple form, striking presence. She works as the centrepiece of a small dining room, in the corner of an open-plan kitchen, or as the focal point of a compact villa dining area.

She's made from white concrete, reinforced with glass fibre rather than poured solid. Same look, same weight in the hand, but far better resistance to chipping and cracking. The finish is matt white, sealed against stains, with a soft hand-crafted texture - smooth to the touch but not polished glass.

About the shape.

An oval does something a rectangle can't: no sharp corners to walk into, and nobody stuck at a formal head of the table. The curve keeps everyone within easy conversation distance, which is why oval tables suit family dinners and weekend brunches so well. It's also the more forgiving shape in a tight room - you can pass around it where a rectangular table of the same footprint would block you.

Height is standard dining at 76 cm, so any dining chairs from our collection will pair well. Rattan chairs for a boho look, or wooden ones for a warmer minimalism.

About the material.

Handmade concrete, lighter than a solid poured slab but with the same visual weight. Two people can move her comfortably; one person with effort. The pedestal base is hollow but weighted at the bottom for stability, so she doesn't rock or tip.

The white finish is warmer than pure white - closer to soft cream. Sits comfortably with warm woods, rattan, linen and jute. Also holds up next to modern black or dark grey pieces.

Honest note on white concrete for dining.

White is beautiful but needs a little care to stay looking sharp. Wine, coffee, turmeric and tomato-based sauces can stain if left overnight. The routine is simple: wipe spills up right away with a damp cloth, and re-seal the surface once a year with concrete sealer, available at any hardware store.

If you have young kids who spill often, or you host messy dinners regularly, our darker concrete tables or wooden dining tables are more forgiving. Get in touch and we'll help you compare.

Indoor vs outdoor.

Indoor primarily. Carolina works on a covered terrace, but not in direct year-round UV - sun will change the white finish over time. For genuine outdoor dining, our teak options are the better fit.

Care.

Damp cloth for daily cleaning. Clean spills immediately. Re-seal annually. No bleach, no abrasive scrubs, no rough cloths.
