Aria Travertine Table Lamp

Aria pairs a solid travertine base with a natural linen shade - stone and cloth, nothing else. The base is cut from genuine Italian travertine and left unfilled, so the natural pitting and veining stay visible and no two lamps come out identical.

About the light.

A linen shade diffuses light rather than directing it, so Aria gives a soft, even glow rather than a reading pool. That makes it a lamp for atmosphere - a bedside, a console, a side table beside a sofa - rather than a task light over a desk. Use a warm 2700K bulb; linen and travertine both turn grey under cool white.

About the material.

Travertine is a natural limestone with a warm cream tone, cut and finished by hand. The shade is 100% natural linen, which softens the light and adds texture rather than reading as a plain white cylinder.

Worth knowing: unfilled travertine is porous, so water rings and oil marks can sit into the surface. A stone sealer applied once a year prevents this almost entirely.

Where it works.

On a bedside table, where the soft light suits evenings. On a console in an entryway. On a side table beside a sofa, paired with a floor lamp for layered lighting. The neutral stone and linen sit comfortably with warm woods, rattan and linen upholstery, and hold their own in a more minimal room.

Care.

Dust the base with a soft, barely damp cloth and dry immediately. Dust the shade with a dry cloth only - do not use water on natural linen. Apply a stone sealer to the base once a year. Avoid acidic cleaners and bleach, which etch limestone.
