Alessandra Wooden Stool & Plant Stand

The Alessandra Stool is entirely handmade and handwoven, using natural materials throughout. The seat is woven by hand in natural fibre; the legs are solid teak, turned and stained to a warm honey tone that shows the grain rather than hiding it.

About the size and use.
This is a small stool that earns its place by doing several jobs. Use it as a plant stand, where the woven top sits a pot at the right height beside a window or in a corner. Use it as a foot stool beside an armchair. Use it as extra seating when guests arrive, or as a small side table for a book and a cup. Light enough to pick up with one hand and move wherever it is needed.

About the material.
Handwoven natural fibre over a solid teak frame. Every stool is made by hand, so small variations in the weave and in the wood grain are natural, not defects. The stained finish deepens the tone of the timber and brings out the turned detail in the legs.

Where it works.
As a plant stand in a living room corner or beside a window. As a footstool next to a sofa or armchair. At the end of a bed. In an entryway as somewhere to sit while putting shoes on. In a bathroom as a stand for towels. Pairs naturally with rattan, linen and warm neutral tones.

Care.
Wipe the teak with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth. Dust the woven seat with a dry brush. Avoid soaking, harsh chemicals and prolonged damp. Indoor and covered outdoor use.
